TetraNEX
A downloadable game
Match the edges. Clear the board.
TetraNEX is a Tetravex-style edge-matching puzzle for the ZX Spectrum NEXT. Tiles sit in a rack on the right. The board waits on the left. Every shared edge must show the same number — or the tile stays in your hand and the Next buzzes at you.
Pick a size, start the clock, and rebuild the shuffled grid.
How to play
Each tile has a digit on all four sides. Place tiles so neighbouring edges agree:
- left board = puzzle
- right rack = your tiles
- touching numbers must match
- illegal drops stay in hand
Fill every cell and the puzzle is solved. Your time is on the title bar.
Features
- Three sizes: 2×2 warm-up, 3×3 classic, 4×4 grind
- Always-solvable shuffled puzzles
- Reset the same layout, or deal a new one
- Pause hides both boards — no peeking
- On-screen timer
- Keyboard and Kempston joystick
- Themes: NEXT and Windows
Controls
- Q A O P or cursor keys — move
- Space / Enter — pick up or drop
- R — reset this puzzle
- H — pause / continue
- N — new puzzle
- M — back to menu
- Kempston joystick also works
Requirements
ZX Spectrum NEXT (or a Next-compatible emulator such as CSpect). Load tetra.nex from the SD card or your emulator's file browser.
